Development questions

Why should you maintain a "One Trigger Per Object" design pattern?

Salesforce does not guarantee the execution order of multiple triggers on the same object and event. With several triggers, behavior becomes unpredictable and hard to debug.

One trigger per object, delegating to a handler class, gives:

  • Deterministic, explicit order of logic
  • A single place to manage recursion and bypass
  • Easier testing and maintenance
  • Logic-less triggers (all logic in classes)
